  • 1/2 cup honey Use pure and not overly processed honey.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier version.
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper For spicier dish, increase amount.
For the Macaroni Cheese

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk Use low-fat milk for lighter version.
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese Grate cheese for smoother melting.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Method

Cooking the Chicken
  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook the chicken for about 6 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Juices should run clear.
  3. In the same skillet, combine the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, around 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Slice the cooked chicken into strips and return them to the skillet, tossing in the honey pepper sauce to coat evenly.
Cooking the Macaroni
  1. Cook the macaroni pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a separate pot, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the flour to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until thickened (around 2 to 3 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, ensuring all macaroni is well coated.
Serving
  1. Plate the creamy macaroni cheese and top it with the honey pepper chicken.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley for freshness.
