  • 1 quart Fresh strawberries Use ripe, firm strawberries for best texture.
  • 1 cup Sugar Use a fine white sugar so it melts into the juice easily.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and hull the strawberries.
  2. Place them in a jar.
  3. Cover the strawberries with sugar.
  4. Seal the jar and let it sit in the refrigerator for a couple of days to allow the strawberries to macerate in the sugar.

Notes

Do not pack the jar too tight; leave a little space. Taste after one day and then every day until you like the flavor. Store in the refrigerator for about 1 week using a clean spoon each time to keep them fresh.
