Ingredients
  

For the Bars
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 box Devil's food or German chocolate cake mix A good quality mix for deeper flavor
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips Quality chips or chopped chocolate bar recommended
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut Use unsweetened for better control of sweetness
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped Freshly toasted preferred for flavor
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted or softened Real butter for best flavor
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz) Choose full-fat for best results

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly sticky.
  3. Fold in the milk chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top, aiming for an even coat.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is set and golden.
  2. Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 45-60 minutes before cutting.

Notes

For best results, cool fully before slicing for clean edges. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
