Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted Use high-quality unsalted butter for best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract Consider using organic vanilla extract for richer flavor.
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use high-quality cocoa powder for enhanced flavor.
  • ¼ tsp salt
Cheesecake Swirl Ingredients
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg Can substitute with a flaxseed meal for a vegan version.
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it thoroughly.
Make Brownie Batter
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until creamy and well blended.
  2. Add eggs, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and white vinegar, whisking until smooth and uniform in color.
  3. Gently sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt, stirring carefully to avoid over-mixing. Pour most of the batter into the baking pan, saving about ¼ cup for the swirl.
Make Cheesecake Filling
  1. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with additional granulated sugar until smooth.
  2. Add egg and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the brownie layer in the baking pan.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of reserved red velvet batter on top of cheesecake, then swirl them together with a knife.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the center is set. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment overhang. Slice into squares and enjoy.

Notes

Pair these brownies with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with chocolate sauce. Storing them in an airtight container keeps them fresh for up to a week.
