  • 1 medium Diced Onion For flavor
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
  • 1 bag Tortilla Chips Layered at the bottom
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (Cheddar and Monterey Jack) For topping

  • 1 cup Pickled Jalapeños For spice
  • 1 cup Diced Avocado For creaminess
  • 1 cup Sour Cream For richness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small pieces. Drain the excess fat.
  2. Dice the onion and prepare the canned tomatoes.
Assembly
  1. Layer the tortilla chips at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread half of the cooked ground beef over the chips, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
  3. Repeat the layering with the remaining chips, beef, and cheese.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

Let the casserole cool slightly before serving to allow flavors to blend. Customize with your favorite toppings and serve with complementary side dishes.
