Preparation
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small pieces. Drain the excess fat.
- Dice the onion and prepare the canned tomatoes.
Assembly
- Layer the tortilla chips at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread half of the cooked ground beef over the chips, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining chips, beef, and cheese.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
