Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
- Stir in the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until well blended.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Be careful not to overmix to avoid a dense loaf.
Baking
- Fold in walnuts and raisins, if using.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store banana bread at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
