Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced kielbasa, diced potatoes, onion, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Mix until well distributed.
  3. Mix in half of the shredded cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish, spreading evenly.
  5. Top with the remaining cheese and add breadcrumbs if desired.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
