  • 8 oz Cream cheese For a smooth, creamy texture.
  • 1 cup Sour cream Adds creaminess.

  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese Adds a mild flavor.
  • 2 Jalapeños, chopped Adjust quantity for desired spiciness.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 tsp Onion powder Adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper To taste.
  • 1 cup Crushed crackers or breadcrumbs For added crunch on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook and shred about 2 cups of chicken.
  3. In a large bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheese.
  4. Chop the jalapeños and stir them into the mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Assembling the Casserole
  1. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer the chicken mixture in it.
  2. Top with a layer of crushed crackers or breadcrumbs.
  3. Repeat the layers and finish with a generous layer of cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Check during the last 10 minutes to prevent over-browning.

Notes

Adjust spiciness by modifying jalapeño amounts. For a vegetarian version, use portobello mushrooms or extra-firm tofu.
