Ingredients

Mint Patty Filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar) Use fine powdered sugar for a smooth center.
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter Use unsalted butter for better control of salt.
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream Use real heavy cream over milk for richness.
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract Choose pure peppermint extract for the best flavor.
Chocolate Coating
  • 8–10 oz dark chocolate, chopped or chips Use good-quality dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa) for a glossy shell.

Method

Preparation of Filling
  1. Combine powdered sugar, softened butter, heavy cream, and peppermint extract until the mixture binds.
  2. Chill the mixture to firm it up, then freeze briefly to prevent melting during coating.
Molding Patties
  1. Shape the mixture into small discs about 1 inch across and 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Place on a tray and freeze for about 30 minutes until firm.
Coating with Chocolate
  1. Melt dark chocolate until smooth and glossy, then dip each frozen patty into the melted chocolate.
  2. Allow excess chocolate to drip off and place the patties back on parchment paper to harden.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks in the fridge, or up to 3 months in the freezer. For a softer center, place patties in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
