- In another bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Dredging and Frying
- Take each chicken piece from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off before dredging in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- Carefully place coated chicken pieces in the hot oil and fry for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove chicken from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double-dipping chicken in buttermilk and flour mixture. Store leftover chicken in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven for a crispy finish at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
