Preparation
- Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.
- Slice the onion and mince the garlic.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 6–8 minutes.
- Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, keeping drippings in the skillet.
- Add sliced onion to the skillet and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to coat in drippings. Cook uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir the bacon back into the cabbage and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 1–2 more minutes to combine flavors.
- Serve hot, optionally garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Can be reheated on the stovetop for best results.
