  • 1 bag Tortilla chips (sturdy, restaurant-style) Use thick, sturdy tortilla chips that can hold toppings.
  • 12 oz Shrimp (peeled and deveined) Choose medium or large shrimp for best results.
  • 2 cups Cheese (shredded cheddar and/or Monterey Jack) Buy block cheese and shred it at home for better melt and flavor.
Toppings
  • 1 cup Diced tomatoes Add bright flavor and color.
  • 1/2 cup Sliced jalapeños Use fresh or pickled for added heat.
  • 1/2 cup Diced onions Red onions add a nice crunch and flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Fresh herbs brighten the dish.
Seasonings
  • 2 tbsp Taco seasoning Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste.
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 each Lime wedges For serving.
  • 1 cup Sour cream Optional, for serving.
  • 1 cup Salsa Optional, for serving.
  • 1 each Avocado Optional, for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Season the shrimp with taco seasoning, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Cook shrimp in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque.
  4. Arrange tortilla chips in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  5. Top chips with cooked shrimp and shredded cheese evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 5–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Remove from oven and add fresh toppings like diced tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, and cilantro. Squeeze lime over the whole platter.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Use fresh toppings only when serving to maintain crispness.
