Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in the diced strawberries.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the cheesecake mixture in the center.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it over to form a triangle, sealing the edges tightly.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wontons in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serving
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Serve warm on a plate with extra powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
Notes
Do not overfill the wontons. Use about 1 tablespoon of filling. Press edges firmly and seal with a little water to stop leaking. Keep oil at 350°F for even cooking. Fry in small batches so the oil temperature stays steady. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
