  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Sauté until fragrant.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For sautéing the garlic.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil, chopped Dried basil can be used if fresh is unavailable.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Use freshly grated for better flavor.

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant, but be careful not to let it burn.
Cooking
  1. Stir in the tomato sauce and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and mix thoroughly until combined.
  3. Add the gnocchi to the sauce and cook according to package instructions, usually until they float.
  4. Stir in fresh basil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Plate the gnocchi and garnish generously with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For best results, serve hot in a shallow bowl with a simple side salad or crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for about a month.
