  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard Good quality Dijon for the best flavor.

  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Thyme Fresh or dried.
  • 1 tbsp Rosemary Optional, for added flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning.

Method

Marinate the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, mix chicken breast with Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, and herbs. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for enhanced flavor.
Prepare the Casserole Base
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then set it aside.
  2. In a pan, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant. Add the heavy cream and Dijon mustard, stirring until combined.
  3. Mix the cooked pasta into the sauce, ensuring it's well coated.
  4. Transfer the pasta mixture to a casserole dish, place the marinated chicken on top, and sprinkle shredded cheese over everything.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the casserole for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
  2. Ensure the chicken has reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C) for safety.

Notes

For a creamier texture, do not overcook the casserole. Add a splash of broth when reheating to maintain moisture. Variants include adding vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or bell peppers.
