- 1 tbsp Thyme, fresh
- 2 cups Yellow onions, sliced
- 1 cup Beef broth
- 1 package Crescent roll dough
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp White vinegar
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the crescent roll dough package instructions.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and thyme, cooking until the onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the beef broth and white vinegar, cooking until heated through.
- Roll out the crescent dough and cut it into squares.
- Place a spoonful of the onion mixture onto each square and top with shredded Gruyere cheese.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal edges.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to caramelize the onions well for the best flavor. Use fresh thyme for more vibrant flavor. Customize the cheese if you prefer; other melty cheeses can work too.
