- 1 lb Chicken breasts or thighs, Boneless Skinless
- 2 tbsp Garlic
- 1 tbsp Ginger
- 1 Green onions
- 1 Thin Strips Onion or bell pepper, Fried
- 1 piece Egg white
- 1 tbsp Chili garlic sauce
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Sugar or honey
- 1/2 cup Tomato ketchup
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 cup Cornstarch
- 2 Red chilies or crushed red pepper flakes, Dried
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Sesame seeds, Toasted
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 Vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Water
Instructions
- Start by cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Marinate the chicken in a mixture of egg white, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sugar (or honey), and cornstarch for about 15-20 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once cooked, add fried onions or bell pepper strips, tomato ketchup, water, black pepper, salt, dried red chilies, vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Stir well and cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
- Serve hot.
Notes
Serve hot with plain steamed rice, fried rice, noodles, or side salad. Garnish with extra sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
