Spicy Dragon Chicken

A quick and tasty dish featuring a bold and spicy sauce that pairs well with chicken breasts or thighs.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken breasts or thighs, Boneless Skinless
  • 2 tbsp Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 1 Green onions
  • 1 Thin Strips Onion or bell pepper, Fried
  • 1 piece Egg white
  • 1 tbsp Chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sugar or honey
  • 1/2 cup Tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 Red chilies or crushed red pepper flakes, Dried
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds, Toasted
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 Vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Marinate the chicken in a mixture of egg white, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sugar (or honey), and cornstarch for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  5. Add the marinated chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, add fried onions or bell pepper strips, tomato ketchup, water, black pepper, salt, dried red chilies, vinegar, and sesame oil.
  7. Stir well and cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve hot with plain steamed rice, fried rice, noodles, or side salad. Garnish with extra sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
