- Brown sugar
- Raisins
- Spices (such as cinnamon and nutmeg)
- Marshmallows
- Pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then boil them until tender. Drain and mash them in a bowl.
- Stir in the maple syrup, brown sugar, raisins, and spices until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans with a bit of brown sugar and sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture.
- Top with marshmallows.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For creamier potatoes, add a splash of milk or cream when mashing. Toast the pecans for a crunchier topping. Adjust sweetness by modifying the amount of maple syrup.
