Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- Drain the green beans and transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking. Let them sit for a few minutes, then drain again.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the green beans to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to combine.
- Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side, if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, use fresh green beans. Adjust the amount of garlic to your taste, and consider adding toasted nuts for crunch.
