Salted Caramel Chocolate Mousse Cake

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth.
  5. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  8. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  9. Gently fold in the salted caramel sauce and cocoa powder into the whipped cream.
  10. Once the cake is cooled, spread the mousse over the top and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  11. Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality dark chocolate for a richer flavor. Ensure the cake is completely cool before adding the mousse to prevent melting.
