Pretzel Chicken with Mustard-Cheddar Sauce

Crunchy chicken coated with pretzels, topped with a warm and cheesy mustard-cheddar sauce. A perfect weeknight meal that appeals to both kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken breasts, boneless skinless
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 2 Eggs, large
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup Mustard-cheddar sauce
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups Pretzels, crushed
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, Dijon mustard, and milk.
  4. Crush the pretzels into small pieces and place them in a third bowl.
  5. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it with the crushed pretzels.
  6. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  7. In a saucepan, heat the mustard-cheddar sauce until warm.
  8. Serve the chicken hot, drizzled with the sauce and topped with cheddar cheese.

Notes

For extra crunch, press the pretzel coating on firmly before baking. Serve with a green salad or roasted vegetables.
