Pretzel Chicken with Mustard-Cheddar Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken breasts, boneless skinless
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 2 Eggs, large
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup Mustard-cheddar sauce
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups Pretzels
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, Dijon mustard, and milk.
  4. Place the all-purpose flour in a third bowl.
  5. Crush the pretzels in a zip-lock bag until fine crumbs form; place in a fourth bowl.
  6. Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the pretzel crumbs to coat.
  7. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  9. In a saucepan, heat the mustard-cheddar sauce until warm, then stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
  10. Serve the chicken hot with the mustard-cheddar sauce drizzled over.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, double-dip the chicken in the egg and pretzel crumbs. Use different cheeses for variations.
