- 4 Chicken breasts, boneless skinless
- 2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 Yellow onion, medium
- 2 cups Chicken broth, low-sodium
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce, low-sodium
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Heavy cream
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and paprika.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet, simmer for an additional 10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve with biscuits or cornbread for soaking up the delicious sauce.
Notes
Adjust the spice level by reducing the cayenne pepper if you prefer less heat. For a richer flavor, add a splash of white wine when cooking the onions.
