Cheddar and Herb Soda Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (like rosemary or thyme)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and dried herbs.
  3. Stir in the cheddar cheese until well combined.
  4. Pour in the buttermilk and melted butter, mixing until just combined.
  5. Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
