Classic Cannoli Squares

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup mini Chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Pistachios, chopped
  • 1 package Pre-made pie crusts (15 oz)
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pre-made pie crusts and cut them into squares.
  2. Place the pie crust squares in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the mini chocolate chips and chopped pistachios.
  5. Fill the pie crust squares with the ricotta mixture.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool, then top with chopped pistachios and garnish with maraschino cherries before serving.

Notes

Ensure the ricotta cheese is well-drained to avoid a watery filling. Adjust the amount of chocolate chips or nuts as per your taste.
