Cheesy Baked Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti noodles
  • Ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • Marinara sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Optional: chopped bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion and garlic until soft.
  4. Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5-10 minutes.
  6. In a large bowl, combine cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce.
  7. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti mixture, followed by half of the cheese.
  8. Repeat with remaining spaghetti and top with remaining cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Cook spaghetti al dente to avoid mushy texture after baking. Customize with your choice of vegetables or cheeses.
