Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 small sesame seed buns or slider buns
- 6 slices American cheese, cut in half
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 24 thin pickle slices
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- For the sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of paprika
Instructions
- Make the sauce: mix mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl. Set aside.
- Form the beef into 12 small patties and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet or grill on medium-high. Cook patties for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Add half a slice of cheese to each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Build the mini burgers: spread sauce on the bottom bun, add chopped onion, place patty with cheese, add pickles and shredded lettuce, then add the top bun.
- For a double mini burger, stack two patties with cheese and sauce between three bun layers.
Notes
Serve warm with extra sauce and pickles. They pair well with fries or salad.
