Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until well combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded mounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and centers are soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor and shine, press a few extra chocolate chips into the tops after baking. Chilling the dough for 15-30 minutes can help prevent spreading.
