Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes (approximately 1 pound)
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil for higher heat tolerance)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika for extra flavor)
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Non-stick cooking spray (for the air fryer basket)
Instructions
- Wash and dry your sweet potatoes thoroughly and cut them into even ¼-inch thick sticks.
- Soak the sweet potato sticks in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Pat the sweet potato sticks dry and toss them with oil and all seasonings until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray, arrange the fries in a single layer, and cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
Notes
For an even lower oil cooking experience, substitute half the oil with a quick spritz of water to help seasonings stick. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in the air fryer.
