Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

Healthy and crispy air fryer sweet potato fries, delivering flavor without the guilt of traditional frying.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes (approximately 1 pound)
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil for higher heat tolerance)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika for extra flavor)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Non-stick cooking spray (for the air fryer basket)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry your sweet potatoes thoroughly and cut them into even ¼-inch thick sticks.
  2. Soak the sweet potato sticks in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Pat the sweet potato sticks dry and toss them with oil and all seasonings until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray, arrange the fries in a single layer, and cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

Notes

For an even lower oil cooking experience, substitute half the oil with a quick spritz of water to help seasonings stick. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in the air fryer.
